Bluetooth Spam

I hate spam, it’s the lowest form for any advertiser to steep to, and I’m sure I’m not alone on this. Spam is everywhere, and everyone gets effected by it, basically eating away at our nerves. Although most media communication channels have been restricted, requiring Opt-In/Opt-Out, we now face Bluetooth spammers! And if you haven’t heard yet, Bluetooth spamming has been officially “legalized” in the UK.

“The sending of unwanted advertising messages to your cellphones and other devices via Bluetooth will start to run on a rampage in the UK…”

BluetoothThe sending of unwanted advertising messages to your cellphones and other devices via Bluetooth will start to run on a rampage in the UK, and it could spread if the issue is left unattended. The main reason for this is due to the fact that the Information Commissioners Office has removed Bluetooth form their list of required permission-based advertising methods, obviously making Bluetooth available for spammers.

I don’t know if someone was bribed for giving the okay at the Information Commissioners Office for allowing “Bluespam”, but hopefully they get some sense knocked back into them, maybe when they get bombarded by spam messages and advertisements every time they try to use their phones. I for one am completely against spam, so now I know to block all of my Bluetooth devices from receiving any kind of messages via Bluetooth whenever I head over to the UK.
